Hank Lefkowicz

he/him

Hank wears a lot of hats.

Originally MASS’s first apprentice, he now runs the fabrication arm of MASS, as well as working on shop maintenance and equipment improvements. He also teaches classes on CNC fabrication and flatpack furniture design.

His professional background is varied, to say the least. He works for Grady Hospital as an Advanced EMT and at one point was the youngest Wilderness EMT in North America. He has an Bachelors’ in neuroscience from GSU where he worked on novel therapeutics for Huntington’s disease. He currently is working on a Masters’ in synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology.

In addition to fine woodworking, Hank also has several art installations around Atlanta and has worked as a rock climbing guide in North Carolina. He’s also worked at the South Pole and McMurdo Station.

Legends say he hasn’t has a full night’s sleep in 30 years.

In his 10 years at MASS, he’s taught just about every class we’ve ever offered, and a whole bunch we haven’t. From hand-cut dovetails to complex manual machining, he’s trained members and apprentices on every machine we’ve ever owned.
